About ECHS Central Organisation
The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Central Organisation operates under the Chief of Staff Committee (COSC) through AG and DGDC&W at Army HQ, Delhi. The organization is led by the Managing Director, ECHS, a serving Major General. ECHS is an attached office of the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DoESW), Ministry of Defence (MoD) alongside the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) and Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB).
Currently, ECHS has 28 Regional Centres and 426 Polyclinics across the country, providing healthcare services to ex-servicemen and their dependents.
