OSSSC Recruitment: Job Aspirants Protest Delay in Physical Exams
Aspirants Demand Clarity on Physical Test Schedule
Candidates applying for Forester, Forest Guard, and Livestock Inspector positions under the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) staged a protest on Tuesday over the delay in conducting their physical examinations.
Exams Delayed Despite Early Notification
According to sources, the notification for these recruitments was released in 2023. While candidates successfully completed the main written examination last year, the physical test schedule remains unannounced, causing widespread frustration among aspirants.
Growing Frustration Among Candidates
The prolonged uncertainty has compelled candidates to take to the streets, demanding clarity from the OSSSC regarding the dates for their physical tests.
One of the aggrieved candidates expressed concern, stating, “Our physical test was initially scheduled for October last year. It has been over three months, and we are still waiting. While we have been regularly practicing, appearing for the test in peak summer would be highly challenging.”
Another aspirant raised concerns about overlapping exams, saying, “We have other examinations to prepare for. How long are we expected to wait for this one?”
A candidate applying for the Forest Guard post added, “There has been an unusual delay in conducting the physical test, which is causing unnecessary stress for all aspirants.”

Allegations of Corruption in Group-C Recruitment
The recruitment process has also been marred by allegations of corruption. Several candidates have accused the OSSSC of malpractice in Group-C recruitments, questioning the transparency of the selection process.
Reports suggest that candidates who had performed poorly in the Primary Education Officer (PEO) examinations were mysteriously included in the merit list for the Combined Examination Group-C results. This has led to speculations that government job positions are being unfairly distributed in Odisha.
Demand for Transparency and Immediate Action
With increasing protests and rising concerns over recruitment irregularities, candidates are urging the OSSSC to provide a clear schedule for the pending physical tests and ensure a fair selection process. The aspirants demand swift action to prevent further uncertainty and disruption in their career aspirations.
